We United Methodists put the Bible to work. In all three of our churches we read from the Bible. Through preaching, we interpret its message for our lives. It forms the background of most of our hymns and liturgy. It's the foundation of our Sunday school study. Many of us use it in our individual devotional lives, praying through its implications day by day. Our real purpose is to help as many people as we can experience the word of God and apply it to their lives.
Perhaps the Bible is best put to use when we seriously answer these four questions about a given text: (1) What did this passage mean to its original hearers? (2) What part does it play in the Bible's total witness? (3) What does God seem to be saying to my life, my community, my world, through this passage? and (4) What changes should I consider making as a result of my study.
Our Sunday school ministries come in all shapes and sizes. We meet every Sunday for worship, instruction and encouragement. Join us this Sunday at one of our three locations, please check the page for the location you wish to attend for times. Throughout the year we will offer church wide studies from either a popular Christian book and/or a Book from the Bible. These special studies are held at random times and days of the week. These special studies typically last no longer then six weeks.
The main goal of our outreach ministry is to engage our community, spreading the good news of forgiveness, hope, and love only found in Jesus Christ. Currently we are getting ready to launch a public bible study in a public setting, the location, time, and day of the week have yet to be determined, please check back with us for more information coming soon. We also have campaigns to invite our community to join us for our upcoming Holiday services for Christmas eve, Christmas Day, and a very special CHRISTmas Concert to be held on Sunday evening, November 13, 2016, featuring Vance Watt and Company, from St. Louis, MO, please see our calendar of events for more information.
