Scripture: 1 Corinthians 11:11-12 (NRSV) 11 Nevertheless, in the Lord woman is not independent of man or man independent of woman. 12 For just as woman came from man, so man comes through woman; but all things come from God.
Reflection & Challenge Question(s): When you look at a person you don’t really see the true person, the true person exist inside of the body God gave them to get around in as a vehicle on earth. Yet, we do judge people by their looks, economic status, family name, sex, gender, where they live, what high school they went to, and the list goes on and on. When was the last time you judged somebody by they way they looked? How many times have you missed out on a great conversation, a chance to be helpful, or possibly making a new friend, all because you judged a person by some self-centered position? Let me encourage you to get to know people for who they truly are, and not judge them by any other standard. Our guest today Dr. Serena Rowan, is an amazing Christian woman, and I would of never pictured her owning and driving a customized 4 x 4 truck, so I am guilty of judging a truck by the driver, or a driver by the truck. We are all created by one God, and so we all come from the same supernatural origin, so let’s embrace it, and learn to love one another, and quit judging one another.
Prayer: Lord, our scripture today reminds me that we are all created by You, and for Your glory. Please remove from me any bias, racism, judgement, etc., that exist in any form that blocks me off from You and my fellows. Grant me the ability and the courage to meet people right where they are at, simply because they are people. We are all are created by You, and saved by grace by the one and only Jesus Christ, please never let me forget this truth. Thy will not mine be done. In Your name I pray these things. Amen.
