6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
- Mt Olivet
We meet the 3rd Tuesday of every month.
Hi Church and Friends,
We invite you to join us for this very special ministry that we provide every third Tuesday of the month. We hold a short service for the residents of this great home. We encourage everyone to get there by 6:15 p.m., in order to visit with the folks ahead of time, and so that we are prepared to start on time. Phyllis, our pianist/organist from Mt. Olivet, joins as our pianist for the evening, and Pastor Harold Long leads the service. We sing three to four songs, and then we have a message from the Pastor, Holy Communion, and then we handout crafts made by our kids from church, it’s a very special and important ministry. It’s truly special when many of you that grew up around here come to support the ministry, because so many of the residents know you, and it’s brightens their day when you show up and say hello. Your warm smile is like the sunshine for so many of them, and your presence always brightens somebody’s day. Remember, God doesn’t bring people together to only Bless a few of them, everyone is Blessed when we gather together in His name.
Here are six scriptures that remind us why we must continue this special ministry:
‘You shall rise up before the gray headed and honor the aged, and you shall revere your God; I am the LORD.
1 Timothy 5:8
But if anyone does not provide for his own, and especially for those of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
1 Timothy 5:1-2
Do not sharply rebuke an older man, but rather appeal to him as a father, to the younger men as brothers, the older women as mothers, and the younger women as sisters, in all purity.
So Elihu the son of Barachel the Buzite spoke out and said, “I am young in years and you are old; Therefore I was shy and afraid to tell you what I think. “I thought age should speak, And increased years should teach wisdom.
1 Peter 5:5
You younger men, likewise, be subject to your elders; and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for GOD IS OPPOSED TO THE PROUD, BUT GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE.
We hope you accept our invitation to come and be apart of this special ministry.
