Scripture: Romans 13:7 (NIV)
7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
Reflection & Question(s): The term “Lame Duck” was coined back in the 18th century on the London Stock Exchange for people who failed to pay their stock debts. It also applies to a president in their last term in office, but most importantly, it can apply to you, especially if you “owe” people, creditors, IRS, etc. and you are not not making efforts to pay the people what you owe. Scripture tells us to pay all we owe, including but not limited to money, respect, honor and basically everything. Let’s say you? Are you paying everything you owe? To your creditors, family, neighbors, etc.? How about paying the people in your life the proper respect and honor, like your parents, elders, etc.? Let me encourage you to get a plan of action to pay everything you owe, and if you need help, then get the assistance of a spiritual adviser, CPA, Financial Planner, and/or Life Coach. This way you will move into the make it happen stage, and no longer live in the lame duck category.
Prayer: Lord, You have commanded me to pay everything I owe, and I have fallen short of that objective. Grant me the willingness to face my creditors and the people I made promises to. Please give me the drive to honor and respect all the people in my life, because they are all your creation and a part of my life. Thy will not mine be done. In Your name I pray these things. Amen.
