Thanks for supporting our Ministry.
Are you familiar with our Prayer Quilt and Fellowship Ministry? We are privileged and blessed to have this Ministry in all three of our churches:
- La Grange UMC
- Durham UMC
- Mt. Olivet UMC
The Purpose of the Prayer Quilt
A Prayer Quilt made with love for you! You are not alone. For each knot in this quilt, a prayer was said just for you. When this quilt is around you, you'll know that God is wrapping His arms around you to give you courage, strength, and everlasting love. So this Prayer Quilt we give to you, with prayers sent above, and its prayer knots are all tied as a symbol of love! Created and given to you with Love from one of our three churches: La Grange, Durham, and/or Mt. Olivet.
How to Get Involved
If you would like to visit and/or possibly regularly attend one of our Quilt Ministries you are strongly encouraged and warmly invited to do so. You don't have to know how to quilt to attend, you can come to learn, or even bring another craft to do, e.g. crochet, knitting, embroidery, and/or some other kind of craft or hobby. The point is for you to be able to join a group of folks for fellowship and crafts. Guess What? You don't even have to know how to sew, you can come and help put in the prayer knots to be tied. The best part of all is that it's for Free and for Fun.
Below is the schedule for the three churches, and then below that is a contact form that you can complete to request more information.
La Grange: They meet every Wednesday, from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., sometimes they stay later. They also have a weekly Pot Luck Lunch, where everyone brings something, and they have a nice hot lunch to go along with their fellowship and quilting time.
Durham: They meet the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (no food)
Mt. Olivet: They meet the 2nd Saturday of the month, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Everybody brings something to share for Breakfast)
We look forward to hearing from you and thank you once more for supporting our Ministry. We truly hope you come and join us.
Grace and peace,
The Quilt Ministry Team
